Are you ready for a home remodel?
Or, maybe you’re preparing to sell your home?
Whatever the situation may be, there are many do-it-yourself projects you can complete on your own, and on a budget. Follow along to discover three home updates you can do to help modernize the look of your current space.
1. Peel & Stick Projects
Complete a floor remodel, add a backsplash to your kitchen, and even modernize your bedroom by adding some texture and dimension.
Update the floors in any area of your home with peel and stick tiles (or planks). This type of flooring can be installed over existing tile, over concrete flooring, or on top of old hardwood. Once applied, your new floors are waterproof and ready for use. If you are looking to add a backsplash to your kitchen, save some money and go the DIY route. A peel and stick backsplash is easy to install and looks just as great. You can choose from a variety of styles and count on your new backsplash to hold up for years to come. Or, if you are looking to add something unique to a bedroom in your home, consider jazzing up this space with some texture and dimension. Peel and stick wall paneling is simple to apply and is an affordable option that will leave you with amazing results. You can find wall paneling in brick, stone, or wood designs.
2. Enhance Your Entryway
The common saying is that “first impressions last a lifetime”. Whether this is true or not, it couldn’t hurt to enhance your entryway, as well as add some curb appeal to your home. The front door is the first thing to be seen so a quick DIY update will refresh and modernize its look.
Start by working with what you already have. Do not go out and spend a ton of money on a new front door. Instead, update your current door by adding features that will bring it back to life. Privacy door glass inserts will do wonders for enhancing your front door! You can choose from an assortment of sizes, shapes, and there is always an option for everyone’s budget. You can also choose from a variety of perspectives, or glass styles, to give your front door a special and unique look. Upon choosing your glass and design, this project can simply be completed with the help of a few tools and an easy to follow tutorial. This home update will leave you with a “new” door that all of the neighbors stop to admire.
3. Refresh Your Hardware
This is a simple, yet excellent, way to update the appearance of your home. Whether you want to update the pull knobs on the kitchen cabinetry or the hardware on your entryways, it is possible to complete this update on your own and stick to your budget.
Now that your old door stepped up it’s game, you can polish off the entire entryway by upgrading the handset to something modern that matches. Or, let’s say you recently got all new stainless steel kitchen appliances, but your cabinet knobs and drawer pulls are all brass. Simply remove all of the hardware and use a flat chrome colored spray paint to evenly spray all of your old hardware. This will give it a whole new look that will bring your kitchen upgrade together.
